Fun day trip with Mauricio – even in the rain!
"This day trip was super fun for our family with 3 teens (even though it rained the whole day and we leaned our jackets were water-resistant not water-proof). They picked us up from the hotel in a van, then picked up other guests from their hotels. We had a choice of canoe or not (inflatable rafts with canoe paddles). It was nice to see the landscape from the water and Mauricio was full of information about the area (and a sense of humor about the weather). Pato served a delicious warm lunch in the middle. And we saw penguins (the few who hadn’t migrated to warmer waters), a sea lion, other sea birds."
Professional, fun indeed and serious organization
"We relied on them for three different activities Not a false note in the way they handle things Recommended"
Truly outstanding guides, activities and organization
"Did the full day hike through the forest, meal and afternoon canoe trip. This is a great activity run by a group that is very professional and does an extraordinary job.
We were picked up at our various hotels. Since it was toward the end of the season, our total group was eight people plus the company-provided driver and cook, guide and another leader when on the water. The hike (something like 4 to 6 miles) went all morning and was excellent. Hiking shoes can be useful but I was in my Nike running shoes and they worked fine. The guide paced us very well and was very informative about the plants, birds, other animals, history and geography.
Lunch was in a domed tent with appetizers, bread, a hot chicken dish, desert, red wine and water. Superbly done.We then got into what are inflatable rafts but where paddling is the same as in a canoe. The company provided water proof boots and pants as well as life jackets.
We started around 9 and finished around 5. Dressing in layers was the way to go because it might seen cool or cold at the start of the hike but you quickly warm up. So being able to take off one or more layers is very helpful. Having a waterproof jacket or rain slicker is useful, too.
You should be in moderate physical condition but by no means do you need to be an athlete or regular trekker. Just be aware, sometimes the trail is reasonably flat and sometimes it goes up and down a fair amount, sometimes on rocks and sometimes on dirt which, after or during rain, can be somewhat muddy but nothing bad."
Visiting Tierra del Fuego with Canal Fun
"Had the best experience visiting the National park. Even though it was raining the whole day the team was so enthusiastic and showed us the best places in the park! Most special part was the Kano trip, because we were the only boat on the water!! Big thanks to Floor and the canal fun team!"
Paired this with a raft trip in the afternoon
Our guide, Florencia, was particularly knowledgeable and personable. We had a large group (12), set up as a private tour and she made the day interesting and enjoyable for everyone - a challenge with the large age and fitness range of our group. The lunch was outstanding. Highly recommended.
Fantastic advantage day with nature
"Pick up was right on time. We have an unusual sunny day. Total 6 people in our group. Eduardo - fantastic skill driver and Camilla - wonderful tour guide. They work as a great team. Very knowledgeable and informative of the areas and answer all our questions. They make sure we enjoy our trip and all our needs are taken care of. We have so much fun slipping and sliding driving through the mud. Then up the hills, down the hills, through the streams and cross the lake!!! Eduardo and Camilla also cooked our lunch. Great chefs, starting off with great appetizers - chips, olives and cheese, sausage dog, etc. than follow with salad. Our main course was bbq rib-eye steak. Great local wine. Can’t ask for more in the wildness. Highly recommended."
Great tour with a small group
"This was a really great half-day tour that included hiking through Tierra Del Fuego National Park and ended with a delicious lunch. Valentin was a wonderful and enthusiastic guide throughout. It was so much more fun to tour with a small group and stay away from the tourist crowded areas. I definitely recommend this company. You will not be disappointed. Wish I'd had more time to do other tours with them."
This day really gives you an idea of the variety and beauty of Tierra del Fuego. The canoeing brings you out of the trials, and the visitors, and gives you incredible beauty on the water, in a very deep silence! The forest is so different, and unique to the park. Our guide showed us all sorts of plants, trees, and fruits. The whole group was super friendly and enthusiast. It was a wonderful day
